I design crochet creatures (like the little owl!), write knitting patterns, study textile history and folklore, and am especially interested in the cultural meaning of fiber arts: the stories we weave into cloth, the traditions passed from one maker to another, and the ancient idea that knots, thread, and design can carry meaning or magic.

Several pieces created by characters in my upcoming novel also exist as real knitting patterns (coming soon!)
